If you want to find the
version of GDP or Word, do this:
-
Open GDP or Word.
-
From the GDP Help menu, click
About. In the GDP window, you will see the version number.
The most recent version is shown below and you ABSOLUTELY must use the
most recent version. Earlier versions have problems. Click
here to see how
to download the most recent GDP version.

-
From the Word Help menu, click
About Microsoft Word. In the About Microsoft Word window, you
will see the version in the first line.
If you want to send me a
print screen of anything on your computer
screen so that I can help you troubleshoot a software problem, do this:
-
Press the Print Screen button on
your keyboard, which is usually found on the right side of the top row
of the keyboarding.
-
Open Word and press the Paste
button or Ctrl-V on the keyboard. A screen capture will appear.
Save the Word file and send it to me as an email attachment.
-
To capture only the active window rather than your
entire screen, press Alt-Print Screen together. From your browser
window, click Help, About Internet Explorer, Alt-Print
Screen. Open Word and click Paste to see a screen capture of
the active window only.
You might need to delete all files and
directories created by GDP in order to fix a technical problem. Assuming
you installed it with the default directories, here is what you do:
-
Open Windows Explore—right-click
the Windows Start button, and click Explore.
-
Browse to the C:GD9-Home directory
(or the directory where you installed GDP).
-
Right-click the C:GD9-Home
directory and click Delete.
-
To delete the data files also, browse to
the C:\GD9Data
directory (or the directory where you store your student
data).
-
Right-click the
C:\GD9Data
directory and click Delete.
If you want to delete
any shortcuts or the program group, do this:
-
On the Windows Desktop, delete any
shortcut you might have copied here. Right-click the shortcut and click
Delete.
-
Click the Windows Start button,
Programs; right-click Glencoe Keyboarding and click Delete.
If you want to rename
a file, do this:
-
In Windows Explore or on the
Windows Desktop, right-click the desired file.
-
Click Rename. Type the new name in
box and click outside the box.
