Week 2

Computer Keyboarding 1 Online
February 15-21

As the LACC school calendar changes from semester to semester for the observance of holidays and vacation days, follow the "weekly" pages here--such as this one--roughly as a guide; your Class Assignment Sheet (which can be downloaded/printed from the ASSIGNMENTS page) will dictate the exact due dates of lessons and word processing assignments. (Click on the "back" arrow to return to the ASSIGNMENTS page.)

Submitting Your Completed Lessons

Submit your lessons by "uploading" your lesson files to the Student Upload Web Site (also referred to as the Instructor Management Web Site).  With your Lessons Menu displayed in GDP, click on "Upload" in the upper left corner of the screen and follow the procedure outlined on the "Getting Started" page of this Web Site.  If you need help, go back to the Home Page and then click on the "Getting Started" link at the top of the page for specific details. Specific step-by-step instructions for "uploading" lessons are also in the thin black manual containing the GDP program CD in your textbook kit.

An email will be sent to your instructor when your lessons have been received at the Student Upload Web Site.  Your instructor will then review your lessons and add comments to your work.  These comments are called "annotations" and will be displayed as bright yellow "A's" in the GDP Portfolio.  For details on reading these annotations, go back to the "Getting Started" page in this Web site.  If a lesson has not been completed according to the textbook directions, you may be asked to repeat the entire lesson or parts of a lesson.  So read the instructions in the left margins of the textbook carefully and be sure to do as instructed (for example, each skillbuilding line must be typed TWICE and each paragraph in a timed writing must be typed once and then repeated for a second time).

After your instructor has reviewed and annotated the lessons you submitted, you will receive an email instructing you to go to the Student Web Site to read your instructor's comments.  Please follow through on your instructor's instructions so that you get off to a good start in computer keyboarding!
