  • On the start date, it is your responsibility to have your supplies.

To log on to your computer:

Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to get to the log in screen.
Type your user name in the User name box, which is:

  1. First 2 letters of your first name
  2. First 2 letters of your last name
  3. Last 5 digits of your student ID

Accordingly, a student named John Smith with a student ID number of 123-45-6789 would have a user name of josm56789.

Type your password in the Password box. Your password is the month and day of your birthday. For example, if John Smith was born on August 31, his password would be 0831

Note: If your computer is inactive for a few minutes, you will be logged off automatically and your work could be lost!!

To log off your computer:

Close all your programs. Click the Windows Start button, Shut Down, OK.

Double-click on the GDP CAOT 1 2 3 icon to launch GDP. Select your class from the class drop-down list on the Welcome screen, and click New Student.
Note: The next time you log on, just select your name from the class list.
  • Type your information and click Save.

  • The Welcome Tutorial starts. Click the numbered buttons at the bottom of the screen to complete the tutorial and click Exit when you're done.

Work on Lessons Return to top of page

  • To begin working in GDP, select a lesson from the Lessons menu. Follow the directions on the screen and in the textbook and those from your instructor to type your lessons. You are responsible for checking due dates and submitting work on time.

Review the Portfolio  Return to top of page

  • To review your work, click Portfolio. Your instructor might have annotated your work, so check for annotations and grades.

Exit GDP and Log-Off  Return to top of page

  • Click the Close button, Yes to exit GDP.
