Thursday, December 7, 2006 1. Pick up your folder as usual, and remove and then review the corrected printouts from your folder. For homework, outside of class, edit any "unmailables" and resubmit for grading at the beginning of the next class meeting. 2. Today’s assignments: a. Do Lessons 110 ABCD, 111 ABC (skip D) EFGH, and 112 ABCDE. Continue to work toward keeping focused on the copy so that you can type at a steady, even pace. If you make an error, tap the space bar, skip the rest of that word, and continue typing without losing your composure and pacing. b. Exit GDP and launch Word. Do Newsletter 110-85, a continuation of Newsletter 109-83. As always, proofread your document for both format and typographical errors. c. Composing a Letter. The next assignment is another composition exercise; this time, a letter. Read the instructions on the handout in your folder (the assignment is not in the textbook). Compose the letter at the keyboard while you are typing. Do NOT write a draft of the letter and then type from the draft. The purpose of this exercise is to think as you are typing, while also formatting the document correctly. Again, you will receive two grades--one for format and the other for content. d. Click on “Portfolio” in GDP to print a report of only Lessons 108, 109, 110, 111, and 112 (this week’s skill building) and any other lessons not yet checked. Place this printout in your folder, and submit all for grading. e. We will have a practice final exam on Monday, so try not to be absent. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND! |
