1. Pick
up your folder as usual, and remove and then review the corrected
printouts from your folder. For homework, outside of class, edit any "unmailables"
and submit for regrading at the beginning of the next class
meeting.
2.
Today's assignments:
a.
In GDP, do Lessons 113 ABC,
114 ABC, 115 ABCDE, and 116 ABC. Again, pay special attention to keeping your eyes on
the copy so that you can type at an even continuous pace and
with rhythm.

Try to increase
your timed writing speeds by 5 wam.
b.
Exit GDP and launch Word for Practice Test 6, our final exam practice
test. We will again have one hour's time in which to complete all
documents. At the completion of the test, you will have the
opportunity to check your formatting against key documents projected on
the screen at the front of the room.
c.
Note:
We have completed all word processing assignments for the semester.
Our focus for the remainder of the course is achieving our highest speeds
possible on our five-minute timed writings.

Lessons 117 ABCDE, 118 ABC, and 120 D.
You may skip
119 ABCDEFG,
Continue to work on keeping your eyes focused on the
timed writing copy; resisting looking away from the copy. Try not to
backspace correct errors during a timed writing, as it interrupts your
concentration and typing rhythm.
b. Exit
GDP and launch MS Word for Test 6, the final exam for this course.
3. Timed
writings and Test 6:
a. 1:15 p.m.--In GDP, enter the
“Morimoto 3 Tests” class for CAOT 3; ask your instructor for the
password. Click on the “Tests Only” radio
button above the Lesson number selection box; and then go to Test 6; be
sure to click on “5-Minute Timing” and not 5-Minute Timing A.
Turn to page 490 in your textbook and take the 5-minute timing
three times.
b.
Exit GDP and wait for specific instructions from your
instructor.
c.
Test 6. You will have one hour's time to
complete the merge letter project, a table, and an academic report,
neither of which is in your textbook. Type from the test copy in
your folder and save the files to the test disk provided by your
instructor. DO NOT PRINT YOUR TEST DOCUMENTS. Place
your test Cover Sheet, the test disk provided by your instructor, and the
test paper itself in the folder and submit to your instructor.
d.
Use remaining class time for additional 5-Minute Timings (from teacher's
handouts).
e.
On
Tuesday, December 19, 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. (our scheduled final exam date),
your graded
test papers will be available for your review along with a grading sheet
showing the calculation of your final grade in this course. It is
important that you attend to verify your grade calculations. In
addition, wallet-size "keyboarding cards" will be distributed to those of you
completing three or more five-minute timings at 50+ wam with 6 or fewer
errors. Click here
to see the certificate. If you typed over 65 wam with 7 or fewer
errors, please sign the Invitee List to the Certificates and Awards
Program for next May, at which time you will be a participant in the
program and awarded a Typing Certificate by the CAOT Department. If
you have completed all the courses required for a CAOT Certificate of
Completion, see Dr. Thelma Day, our department chairperson, in AD Room
304, for a certificate application form, before leaving for Winter
Break. Doing so will assure that you will be invited to attend our
departmental Certificates and Awards ceremony in May 2007.
