1.     Pick up your folder as usual, and remove and then review the corrected printouts from your folder. For homework, outside of class, edit any "unmailables" and submit for regrading at the beginning of the next class meeting.

2.    Today's assignments:

a.    In GDP, do Lessons 113 ABC,  114 ABC, 115 ABCDE, and 116 ABC.  Again, pay special attention to keeping your eyes on the copy so that you can type at an even continuous pace and with rhythm.  ¯¯  Try to increase your timed writing speeds by 5 wam.

 b.   Exit GDP and launch Word for Practice Test 6, our final exam practice test.  We will again have one hour's time in which to complete all documents.  At the completion of the test, you will have the opportunity to check your formatting against key documents projected on the screen at the front of the room.

c.     Note:  We have completed all word processing assignments for the semester.  Our focus for the remainder of the course is achieving our highest speeds possible on our five-minute timed writings.

3.    See you on Thursday!

1.    Pick up your folder as usual, and remove and then review the corrected printouts from your folder.

2.    Today’s assignments:

a.    Do Lessons 117 ABCDE, 118 ABC, and 120 D.  You may skip 119 ABCDEFG, Continue to work on keeping your eyes focused on the timed writing copy; resisting looking away from the copy.  Try not to backspace correct errors during a timed writing, as it interrupts your concentration and typing rhythm.

b.    Exit GDP and launch MS Word for Test 6, the final exam for this course.

3.   Timed writings and Test 6:

a.    1:15 p.m.--In GDP, enter the “Morimoto 3 Tests” class for CAOT 3; ask your instructor for the password.  Click on the “Tests Only” radio button above the Lesson number selection box; and then go to Test 6; be sure to click on “5-Minute Timing” and not 5-Minute Timing A.  Turn to page 490 in your textbook and take the 5-minute timing three times.

b.    Exit GDP and wait for specific instructions from your instructor.

c.    Test 6.  You will have one hour's time to complete the merge letter project, a table, and an academic report, neither of which is in your textbook.  Type from the test copy in your folder and save the files to the test disk provided by your instructor.  DO NOT PRINT YOUR TEST DOCUMENTS.  Place your test Cover Sheet, the test disk provided by your instructor, and the test paper itself in the folder and submit to your instructor.

d.    Use remaining class time for additional 5-Minute Timings (from teacher's handouts).

e.    On Tuesday, December 19,  12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. (our scheduled final exam date), your graded test papers will be available for your review along with a grading sheet showing the calculation of your final grade in this course.  It is important that you attend to verify your grade calculations.  In addition, wallet-size "keyboarding cards" will be distributed to those of you completing three or more five-minute timings at 50+ wam with 6 or fewer errors.  Click here to see the certificate.  If you typed over 65 wam with 7 or fewer errors, please sign the Invitee List to the Certificates and Awards Program for next May, at which time you will be a participant in the program and awarded a Typing Certificate by the CAOT Department.  If you have completed all the courses required for a CAOT Certificate of Completion, see Dr. Thelma Day, our department chairperson, in AD Room 304, for a certificate application form, before leaving for Winter Break.  Doing so will assure that you will be invited to attend our departmental Certificates and Awards ceremony in May 2007.

ENJOY  YOUR WEEKEND!  See you next Tuesday at 12:30!
