1.
Pick up your
folder as usual, and remove and then review the corrected printouts from
your folder. Plan to edit any “unmailables” as homework and submit them
at the beginning of the next class period.
2. In
GDP, do Lesson 84 ABC; when you are done, take the five-minute timed
writings specified by your instructor. Take the timed writing at
least three times. Before exiting GDP, print a portfolio report of
the five-minute timed writings.
3. Exit
GDP, launch MS Word, and continue typing Report 81-58. Pick up where
you left off during the last class meeting.
When you get to the middle of page 319 in your textbook, insert the
file
Table 84-42
from your disk
into your report (click
on "Insert," "File," in MS Word) where indicated. Be sure the
table is centered horizontally
between the left and right margins. Finish typing the remaining
paragraph, which is the end of the report body. Proofread very
carefully and print these last pages of your report body to submit to your
instructor.
4.
Review page R-7B (format of a title page); then create Report
85-59, which is a title page for this report. Replace Lydia
Reyes with your name on the title page as the Marketing Manager for Gold
Coast Healthcare.
5.
Submit printouts of the five-minute timed writing scores, the last pages
of Report 81-58, and your title page (Report 85-59) to your instructor for
grading.

1. Pick up your
folder as usual, and remove and then review the corrected printouts from
your folder. Plan to edit any “unmailables” as homework and submit them
at the beginning of the next class period.
2. In
GDP, do Lesson 85, ABCD and Lesson 86 D (the timed writing
may be repeated three more times).
3.
Demonstration/discussion of how to "generate" a Table of Contents
(Report 85-60) in Word and create a Bibliography (Report
85-61) for Report 81-58:
a. Review the following pages in the Word Processing
Manual: R‑7D (format of table of
contents),
R‑9B (format of a
bibliography) and Lessons 44 (hanging indent) and 45 (dot leader tabs).
b.
Do NOT type the Table of Contents. Because we applied the
customized Word "styles" we created to the headings in the report, Word
will automatically generate the Table of Contents for us based on the
styles we used. The procedure will be
demonstrated by your instructor. The Table of Contents page we
create will become a new page of your "Report 81-58" file; you will NOT be able to save
it as a separate file.
d. The "hanging indent" feature
(FORMAT; Paragraph; Indents and Spacing Tab; Indentation, "Special")
will be used to format the Bibliography
(Report 85-61). It should be saved as a separate file named "Report
85-61.
4.
Because today
is Thursday, click on “Portfolio” to print a report of Lessons
84, 85, and 86 (this week’s skill building). Place this printout,
along with the Word documents, in your folder and submit them for grading.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
