Final Web Site

You will continue to work on your Final Web site (the main pages of the frameset in particular) so that by the end of class next week, you will be prepared for me to look at the required features for Tutorials 1-6. See the Final Exam page for details. This is an ideal time to get personal attention, answers to individual questions, and help with technical issues. In addition to next week the last class meeting will be completely devoted to working on your Final Web site.

Frameset, 10 pts. Next week, be prepared to create your frameset page, main page, etc., using link bars for navigation. Create the framset pages as shown in the NavigationFrameset Web for Lollipop Creations. When I finish with the demonstration, we will prepare the frameset page Frameset_description.htm, banner page Frames_Banner.htm, content page Frames_Contents.htm, and main pages Frames_Main1_description.htm together. Therefore, look in your PAS Requirements section to see what main pages you will need.

Send me an email with the Subject line "Frameset," copy and paste the sentences below shown in blue, and change the page titles shown in bold below to the page titles you will use for your own Final Web site. You must list a minimum of 3 main pages. If you have more than three main pages, include them in your list. For example, my e-mail for this assignment would read as follows:

The title of my frameset page is: Lollipop Gifts
The title of my first main page is: Gift Jars
The title of my second main page is: Gift Pails
The title of my third main page is: Gift Tins

Final Web Site and PAS: , we will continue your Final Web site and PAS. Here is a checklist to help you get started:

  • On the PAS the Objective and Reference section should be complete. The Navigation and Requirements sections should be completed for this assignment.

  • The list of Web pages must include a Final page as the last page in your child level 1 hierarchy.

  • Identify the frameset page in blue and identify the main frame pages and their content.

  • Use link bars generated by FrontPage.

  • Navigation in the link bar in the shared border should point to child pages under home and home.

  • Capitalize all link bar button and banner names.

  • Include a bottom shared border on all pages with a counter, revision date, and top picture for navigation to the top of each page.

  • Include a top shared border on home and child level 1 pages with navigation and a link to child pages under home and the home page.

  • Place all content (include content inside your shared borders) inside a 640-pixel, centered, borderless table. (Click here for steps if you can't see the bottom of the Insert Table dialog box.) Left-align paragraphs.

  • Your home page should be nearly finished.

  • Check mechanics.

  • Apply a theme and tell me the name of your theme.

  • Center the table on the Final page and add working hyperlinks to any finished items.

Click here to see a handout that summarizes steps to create frameset pages with link bars based on navigation structure and shared borders. This handout will be helpful when you create your frameset pages with me next week for your Final Web site.
