Of the
students who receive a bachelor’s degree from UC or CSU, nearly 60% began
their careers at a California community college. Nearly 60% of CSU
bachelor’s degree holders and over 32% of UC bachelor’s degree holders
began in our community colleges. Just as important, the percentages have
been steadily increasing. The CSU percentage has changed from 51.2%
(1988-989) to 59.9% (1997-98); and the UC percentage has changed from
19.5% (1988-89) to 32.2% (1997-98). |

of medical terminology through a study of word roots, prefixes, and
suffixes. Emphasis is given to spelling, pronunciation, and definitions.
Medical terminology for basic anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the
body systems is also stressed. Current medical innovations/issues are
